🛒Ingredients:
- 1 brinjal (sliced)
- 1 capsicum (rings/slices)
- 1 tomato (firm slices)
- 1 small bottle gourd/tomato gourd (thin slices)
- 2 potatoes (round slices)
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- 2 tbsp rice flour
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp ajwain/kalonji
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Mustard oil for frying
👩🍳Method:
- Wash and thinly slice all vegetables.
- In a bowl mix besan, rice flour, spices and salt.
- Add water gradually to make a smooth medium-thick batter.
- Heat mustard oil till hot.
- Dip vegetables into the batter and fry till crispy golden brown.
- Serve hot with muri (puffed rice), green chilies and a cup of chai.
Kolkata Style Jhaal Muri

🛒Ingredients:
- 4 cups puffed rice (muri)
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 2 green chilies chopped
- 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
- 1 boiled potato chopped
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves
- ½ tsp roasted cumin powder
- ½ tsp black salt
- Salt to taste
- A pinch of red chili powder
- 1 tsp chanachur/bhujia
- 1 tbsp mustard oil
- Few drops lemon juice

- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- 2 tbsp rice flour
