Yes, the hills come to alive when you walk into this Darjeeling–themed cafe–cum–store – The Whistling Kettle, located at GolPark which serve an all-day breakfast menu full of delights starting from king-size breakfast portions and healthy shakes to kick-start your early morning hunger pangs or brunch in with their ‘All Day Breakfast’ menu.

The decor –
A picture perfect cafe with amazing decor and design inspired by the flavours of the hills – the theme that aims to connect to Darjeeling.
The whole place has a fabulous theme with posters, framed pictures, elegant bamboo patterned lamp hanging from the ceiling – Darjeeling inspired light fixtures which makes your dining even more exciting.
The tones of the rustic light wooden accessories and dim yellow lights add up a classy ambience to the whole atmosphere.
The spark shine of vinyl wallpaper presenting the landscape of the tea garden with a blooming bud embraces nature very well by allowing the wall to breathe thus lending an air of freshness and zing to the cafe.
The entrance of the cafe lands to a boutique gift shop which sprawls into a spacious eatery area with a performance stage – a guitar stacked at one corner and a small pastry counter inside.
The gift shop is embellished with a wide range of boutique kettles, designer mugs, premium tea leaves and a variety of lifestyle gifts item pertaining to Tea to pamper you.
A wide collection of exquisitely designed tea gift sets and elegant teaware awaits on the shelf to greet every guest as well attract me the same which I have visited a number of times.
In overall, a great decor – very well crafted and tastefully furnished.
Now it’s time to get your forks wet in the BaconFest. The Whistling Kettle brings the flavours of Darjeeling on your plate to fling the buds with some crazy 12 bacon delectable dishes to make for a great start to our day.

Yes, it’s pure love that bacon grease, when smeared with barbecue sauce with the final smoky aroma oozing out of the minced pork ball cubes, wrapped generously with bacon strips. The bite-sized piggy cube stacked in the skewer from the best parts of the pigs – Pork Belly Fat seasoned well with slightly burnt at their edges are simply bliss – a reason for celebration in every occasion. The sweet tangy barbecue sauce brushed on the edges makes this dish a tasty bomb.

Loaded Bacon Potatoe –
When it comes to mashed potatoes, my love for the glorified baked potato has no bounds. Creamy garlic buttery mashed potatoes loaded with mouth-watering toppings of cheddar cheese, bacon bit and spring onions – a heavenly combo which makes this appetizer a terrific one to boost up your party mood. The dark brown baked skin of these russet potatoes makes the whole dish very flavourful and classic too.

Bacon and Cheese Lasagna –
Who could say no to bacon wrapped lasagna? Lasagna, Bacon and cheese always form a happy loving family. The super creamy taste of the baked lasagne sheets doused with a generous amount of minced pork and mozzarella cheese and then wrapped with bacon strips makes this dish a monster. One of the best-twisted Lasagna dishes I ever had packed with tasty streaky bacon fillings which actually boosts the taste of Lasagna.

Bacon Lettuce and Tomato Burger –
A wonderful comfort-food that pleases every crowd on all occasions. Just pile some grilled bacon, embellished with ripe tomato slices, lettuce, ground black pepper topped with Mayo. Very delectable filling bite sandwiched in the grilled buns.
