Eating out and tantalising the taste buds have been refined by the boutique restaurant – Ekdalia Rd located near the Ekdalia crossing and Ballygunge Flyover opened its doors to the food fanatics on 08-Aug-2018.
The restaurant located on the ground floor in the bylanes of Ekdalia comes with a boutique concept- a restaurant housed with a unique taste and ambience.
The outside view of the restaurant flashes the Old Bengali architecture windows tonned with vibrant colours mix of – blue, saffron, yellow which makes the ambience more inviting and warm to every guest.
The entrance leads to a dining area with exposed brick walls painted in white, high ceilings makes the interior visually more appealing with the ambience resembling heritage structures of Bengal all around.

A few handcrafted accessories in term of paintings will take every guest back to the historic era. The huge golden metallic clock on the white textured brick wall will draw the attention of every visitor.

The cosy soft peacock blue cushioned wrought iron seaters and the rustic pale yellow wooden tables add a touch of modern outlook combined with old tastes.

A narrow passage from the dining area leads to another cosy dining section with a Wall Of Fame that canvases gallery of Celebrity Chefs who have inspired the whole world with their culinary skills and of course a Vintage Mirror.

The review would have remained incomplete without articulating the classic dining wares – the handcrafted dark blue rustic potteries and the fine dining style cutleries marks an epitome of luxury which adds a charm of vintage flavour.

๐ต from Rakhee Ghosh and Surojit Rout ended to some sumptuous Fine Dining Gourmet 6 course dishes presented by Surojit on the plate with an excellent mix of flavours and an outstanding plating. A true composition of his long-term research work and hard efforts reflects in his culinary execution.

Fresh olives wrapped with chicken and grilled with homemade sauce.
A dish with Mediterranean influence – thin strips of chicken breasts wrapped around fresh olives and grilled to its perfection with a tangy homemade sauce. The sharp, salty bite of the olive pairs perfectly with the chicken.
A flavoursome and satisfying healthy no carb gourmet dish served with green leafy salad – lettuce and baby rocket leaves tossed in light dressing and soft pieces of pita bread.

Stuffed mushrooms –
Mushrooms stuffed with cream cheese and grilled.
Mushroom stuffed with a generous filling of cream cheese grilled to perfection with a crusty topping of breadcrumbs and grated cheese. The flavours of the mushrooms are infused with the cream cheese. The dish is given a twist by serving the classic stuffed mushrooms on a little bed of fine creamy mushy peas and green leafy salads – lettuce and baby rocket leaves with soft pieces of pita bread on the side.
The glorious combination of the mushroom and mushy peas makes the gourmet dish absolutely crowd-pleasing.

Grilled chicken wings with Mustard Honey Glaze –
One of the best grilled chicken
๐ wings with an oriental influence with a sweet sticky coating that tastes fantastic.
Chicken marinated with garlic whisked in honey, mustard, soya sauce, lemon, olive oil and black pepper is grilled to perfection to give the pale crusty glazed texture.
The tangy-sweet honey mustard dip seasoned with extra crushed pepper makes its edge a bit spicy, served on the side will definitely leave every food hunters to lick the fingers when the wings are dunked into it.

Fillet of fish smeared in crushed groundnut pan fried served with homemade sauce, herbed rice and veggies.
A very delicate pan-fried dish that comes with a perfect blend of crispy and tender fish enveloped with crusty roasted groundnut and seasonings brings a nutty taste on the plate that complements with the flaky fish fillets garnished with moist leafy veggie bits.
The dish reflects a significant example of fusion cuisine where East meets West by adding a dash of Organic herbs to mild sweet buttery flavoured short grains sticky rice
๐– Gobindo Bhog which brings an extra fascinating flavour to the dish.
Julian strips of crunchy bell peppers on the side add colours of happiness to the whole meal.

Pasta Carbonara with Garlic Bread

The glorious Italian carbonara with its influence from Rome is made by scrambling eggs and Parmesan mixed with the tubular Penne Pasta.
To make this meal more pleasing, the Penne is tossed in a duo creamy sauce – with the white cheesy garlic sauce on the top and a mild tomato creamy sauce on the bottom and garnished with basil, polo olives drizzled with olive oil.
The dish is accompanied by a slice of oven baked garlicky, crunchy, aromatic herbed homemade garlic bread

The dish with Italian influence has been brilliantly twisted to by enveloping the fillet with Polenta seasoned in salt and pepper, pan-fried to give an elegant texture with a mildly sweet flavour of the toasted corn

To balance its taste, deep flavoured rich homemade caramelised lemon sauce with pepper seasoning is paired with the dish in addition to crispily fried bell peppers.
