Breakfast Bites on a Sunday Morning, StarBucks – Kolkata

A throwback to Feeding Frenzy’s (Pamela, Ishani, Ayan – team of 3 Crazy Foodies) visit to enjoy the classic breakfast and handcrafted beverages on a Sunday morning at Starbucks, Kolkata – Acropolis Mall (Ground Floor). One of the much-awaited American iconic coffee chain that made its way to the sixth Indian city – The City of Joy.

A world-class brand – with its logo of the ‘mermaid lady‘ takes an excessive pride to satisfy the buds of Kolkata Coffee Fanatics through its freshly brewed roasted coffee beans by using the highest quality arabica coffee as the base for all its signature beverages starting from Hot or Iced Espresso to Frappuccino (blended cold beverages).

The ambience of the cafe is soothing with its rusty wooden interiors, textured walls and spacious low seating arrangements and high stools stacked at the corner as well.

The entrance of the outlet sprawls into a wide area leading to the deli counter loaded with heaps of signature delicacies and beverages section along with a souvenir area on one side.

The decor of the cafe reflects the perfect theme of Golden Days in one of its walls by stacking the creations of our great poet, Tagore’s – ‘Geetabitan‘, ‘Shesher Kobita‘ etc. on the shelves, that will definitely drive every bong to a nostalgic world.

Our journey started with the photo shoot of the signature delicacies and live video of the cafe followed by indulging into gourmet sandwiches and wraps, classic puffs and muffins, hearty signature desserts while sipping over a cup of steamed latte.

Coming to the creativity part –

Hats off to Niladri Biswas (Team Lead @StarBucks – Acropolis), his artistic skills on whipping of fresh cream over the double choco chip beverage drizzled with Mocha and finally presenting his creativity of the froth on the Latte.

Our breakfast bites included –

Double Meat Club SandWich – Perfect meat lovers choice to be paired with a cup of coffee. Stuffed with pork sausage and chopped lamb.

Chicken Wellington – A gourmet affair – new season special launched by Starbucks. Boneless chicken breasts topped with a mushroom-onion mix and wrapped in tender puff patty.

Murg Kathi Wrap – Absolutely delicious and nutritious with spicy tangy pieces of chicken wrapped in oil-free Parantha.
Chicken Wellington – A gourmet affair – new season special launched by Starbucks. Boneless chicken breasts topped with a mushroom-onion mix and wrapped in tender puff patty.

Red Velvet and Orange Cake – A classic affair. Layers of cream cheese red velvet orange cake enveloped in thick fresh creamy frost topped with white chocolate flakes.

Blueberry Delight – A delight for the cheesecake lovers. Layers of blueberry cheesecake topped with plumps of blueberry sauce.

Chocolate Rosomalai mousse – A fusion dessert where East meets West. Rasmalai wrapped in a chocolate mousse mix. Will drive you crazy due to its taste and texture.

Mango Yogurt Mousse – Perfection at its best, in terms of taste, appearance and texture. An ideal blend of mango puree, yoghurt and mascarpone cheese.

A session with Biswas Niladri and the Feeding Frenzy team was arranged while sipping from the bud to a cup of coffee.

A detailed session was presented about the various transformation phases of coffee beans starting from its plucking stage ((green buds to bright red buds) to sip.

The journey of feeling the aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans while rubbing on the hands followed by a session of tasting great shots of iced latte and chocolate iced mocha was thrilling.
